Summer Reading Program
Summer Reading is BACK for it's second year in 2020! To participate, pick up a Summer Reading Program Brochure from the bookstore (copies kept just outside the front door for contactless pick up) or print a copy from here. Then, record each book you read on the list page (back page of the printed copies). When you’ve read and recorded 5 age-appropriate books, bring your brochure list by the bookstore (or email a picture of your brochure to Angela) and you’ll earn $5 in Downtown Bucks to spend at local businesses. But keep reading! Once you’ve read and recorded 10 books, bring your brochure list by the bookstore (or email a picture of your completed brochure to Angela) and you’ll earn a free children’s, middle grade, or Young Adult book ($8 or less) from Adventure Bound Books*. The Summer Reading Program is open to any reader at least 4 years old who can read independently to him/her/themself. Readers can complete as many Summer Reading lists as they would like from June 1st - August 31st, earning a treat each time he/she/they hits the 5 and 10 book marks!
* If you choose a book valued at greater than $8, you'll receive a Summer Reading discount of $8 off your purchase. This discount cannot be combined with other coupons or discounts with the exception of sales/already marked down books.

We're back this summer with more storybook adventures and crafty projects! Young readers ages 5 to 9 years old will embark on an epic storybook journey each day of camp week. Every day of camp we will read 2 - 3 books together followed by story-related activities. For example, we may read Sylvester and the Magic Pebble and then paint rocks to take home or leave around town. Or we may read Brave and create our own super-hero capes or masks. It will be an adventure-filled week full of stories and creativity. The cost is $80 per camper for the entire week or $20 per camper per day if you're not around for the full week but still want your child to participate.
SUMMER 2020 -
Registration is required and space is limited. The June event was postponed due to COVID 19 but I am working on July and possibly August dates. Details coming soon!
Previous Dates: SPRING 2019 and SUMMER 2018
Don't Judge a Book by Its Movie
***We're working to restructure these events and hope to offer some summer break options very soon. Please check back for details and updates.***
Each month we will read a book and then watch the corresponding movie, followed by a discussion of similarities and differences. Your kiddos will get a chance to write or draw their findings in a creative way. Simple snacks will be provided (please indicate any food allergies on the sign up forms each time your child attends). Each drop-off event is designed for children ages 5 to 11 years old and the cost covers story time, snacks, craft, discussion, and movie. Take note of the time and pricing indicated; events that run from 6:00-8:00pm are $25 and events that run from 6-7:30pm are $20. Space is limited 12 children and pre-registration is REQUIRED, ending the day before each event.
